GeoRisCA
The goal of GeoRisCA (Geo-Risk in Central Africa) is to study Geo-risk in the Kivu region (DRC, Rwanda, Burundi). The research aims at integrating multi-hazards and vulnerability to support risk management. In the project, volcanic, seismic, and mass-movement hazards are analyzed, as well as the vulnerability of the population, its infrastructure, and the natural ecosystems. The project was started in 2012 and successfully completed in 2016. The funds were provided by the Belgian Federal Scientific Policy (Belspo).
